Spend approximately one hour exploring Mendenhall Glacier's water falls, trails and wildlife. Be sure to stop at the Visitors Center to hear about the majestic blue ice and nature at its best.

"The Blue Bus" Glacier Express

Duration: YOU DECIDE!   

 

This is a narrated express direct transportation 14 miles from downtown to the Mendenhall Glacier. "The Blue Bus" runs every 30 minutes to and from the Glacier, beginning at 8:00am till 6:00pm on most days. There are NO "timed tickets"! YOU decide when you go and return! Let our Bright Blue Bus take you out to the “Big Blue Ice”.

The Red Trolley Tour / NOT AVAILABLE 

$35 per person - Runs once an hour (15 minutes past the hour)

Experience this unique city tour of Downtown Juneau with our costumed guides. Hear stories and folklore of old gold mining days. Some may even be true! Wink. Hear how it all began. See historic hotels and saloons, State Capitol Building, the Governor’s Mansion, City and State Museum, you may want to hop off for an hour or more at the State Museum and hop back on. The Red Trolley Tour will take you over "the bridge" to Douglas Island for a beautiful photo op of downtown and the cruise ships against the snow capped mountains.

Then we are on our way to the McCauley’s Dipac Salmon Hatchery.  You may “Hop Off”

here and enjoy the awesome aquarium with the area to touch, feel and experience. See the

Salmon ladder and pools with wild salmon. Hear the Hatchery guides explain the

spawning process of our Alaskan Salmon. You will have a minimum of one hour or stay

as long as you like (entry fee is included)  Be sure you don’t miss the last Red Trolley pick up for the day because after the Salmon Hatchery we will make a brief stop at the New Life-size Breaching Whale statue and fountain! A sight to see and loved by all!

AJ MINE GASTINEAU MILL TOUR

Relive Juneau's mining heritage on a unique tour of what was once the worlds largest gold producing mill. Hear the story of this great mine that was the heartbeat of Juneau.

Following a brief ride along the beautiful Gastineau Channel, your driver will set the stage for your underground adventure.

Donning hard hats, the tour proceeds along a boardwalk into a 360 foot-long tunnel. An experienced miner will demonstrate hard rock mining techniques and acquaint you with the mining lifestyle.

Back at the mill our guide will explain why this mill was unique compared to others in the area. You will see the John Peterson 3 Stamp Mill in operation and you will try your own hand at panning for gold and garnets. Pay dirt is guaranteed and you keep what you find!
